What did you think of Gone Girl? I thought it was fantastic. David Fincher is just such a great director.

Good to hear from you, Ben. I liked GONE GIRL but didn’t love it. Fincher IS a great director but I thought this was more in the realm of an ably fulfilled “work for hire” genre exercise (like GIRL W/ THE DRAGON TATTOO) rather than a passionate, highly personal statement (like ZODIAC or THE SOCIAL NETWORK).

I really like Rosamund Pike in it, but perhaps someone other than Ben Affleck could have lead the film. I wasn’t a tremendous fan of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo either. Zodiac really is a great film, as was TSN. How do you feel about Jake Gyllenhaal’s upcoming film “Nightcrawler”?
