MANAKAMANA and especially IT FELT LIKE LOVE are among my favorite of the year so far. I hope you dug them. I wasn’t too crazy about VENUS IN FUR though, much to my surprise. Your thoughts?

I thoroughly enjoyed IT FELT LIKE LOVE. I agree with your comparisons to Claire Denis. I’m anxious to see what Eliza Hittman does next.

MANAKAMANA is my favorite documentary of the year. The Sensory Ethnography lab is single-handedly saving the non-fiction film as far as I’m concerned and I’ll have more to say on the subject very soon.

I thought VENUS IN FUR was pretty great and, needless to say, enjoyed it much more than you. I was glad to see Polanski return to the darkly comical psychosexual terrain of BITTER MOON and thought his mise-en-scene and the performers were both superb.
