  I just watched All That Heaven Allows again last week. Isn’t it magnificent? I think I want to write a little ‘Have you Tried Douglas Sirk’ piece soon

    It IS magnificent! It’s my favorite Sirk and I was, of course, watching the new Criterion Blu-ray. You should do that piece on Sirk. More people need to be aware of his work.

    You need to see A COTTAGE ON DARTMOOR as soon as possible — one of the most unjustly unheralded films of the silent era!
