  I love Stagecoach. One of my top 3 favourite Westerns.

    I showed it in a “World of Cinema” class as an example of a classic western. I’m always worried that a movie like that isn’t going to go over well but the students loved it.

      Yeah I first saw it at uni where it was the Western choice in an intro to genre course.

  I have seen numbers 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10 and loved them all. In fact, I have given them all * * * * stars (out of * * * *). 🙂

    Definitely check out THE EPIC OF EVEREST if you can — amazing silent British movie. I’ll look at your BEFORE MIDNIGHT review right now.

  P.S. on my Top 10 Best Films of 2013 post, I have revised my summary of Before Midnight because I felt that I did not do it justice when I initially wrote it.   I absolutely adore both Groundhog Day and The Awful Truth. I love City Lights too. I can’t wait to see The Epic of Everest!!

    The wife and I watched Groundhog Day ON Groundhog Day, which was awesome. I showed City Lights in class, which the students always love. I had never seen The Epic of Everest but blind-bought the new BFI Blu-ray. I was blown away by it! Expect to see it on my Silent British Cinema Primer post coming soon.

      Yeh I think the Epic of Everest restoration screened during the BFI London Film Festival, but I didn’t see it, but my local arthouse cinema I work at is screening it at the end of the month, so might have to pop along! I was thinking of watching it on Groundhog Day but missed it. I’ve made a note to watch it next year though 🙂
