Body Snatchers, Brief Encounter, The Killing and I Know Where I’m Going! are all favorites. Ball of Fire isn’t one of Hawks’ best but it’s interesting.

That’s the first Hawks film i saw all the way, i loved it. If Hawks gets a lot better than that he sets standards pretty high.

Oh, wow, there are a lot of great Hawks movies waiting for you. You should see most of them but you might want to prioritize:

Scarface: the Shame of a Nation (much better than DePalma’s remake), Bringing Up Baby (one of the funniest movies ever made), To Have and Have Not (the best of the Bogie and Bacall movies), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (this is the one where Marilyn sings “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”) and Rio Bravo (the best movie John Wayne appeared in that wasn’t directed by John Ford).

Good list. I’m glad to see A Dangerous Method so high. Other films we had in common are Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Tree of Life, Midnight in Paris, Hugo and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

I also really wanted to see The Muppets and Moneyball but, alas, they got away . . .

Yeah, there were some pretty good ones. One other I forgot to mention, though, is Attack The Block. It’s an absolutely hilarious and absurd science fiction film that can’t be missed.
