    True Grit was great. As I said before, I think it was so subtle and understated, and I’m sure the temptation to be a cliched in so many ways was there but they definitely resisted it.

    I also was relieved at the lack of cliches, particularly as I sometimes find myself annoyed by the smart-alecky, postmodern humor of the Coen brothers. Glad to see them play this one simple and straightforward!
