1)The Thin Blue line (morris)
2)Wings of Desire (wenders)
3)Girlfight (kusama)

These films were really great, i personally liked wings of desire because it was so different like really poetic and its such a beautifull work of art the style the color the way they shot it, it was amazing!

I also thought Contempt was fantastic, now its time to look for all these films on dvd at this local store i go to

Wow, I really enjoyed that post, especially as I'm a huge fan of Ford and, while I admire Malick (especially for his first three films), I felt really let down by The Tree of Life.

I'm glad you are choosing to show Breathless even if you don't like it. I show Breathless in all of my Intro to Film classes. I've seen it over 40 times now and I personally get no pleasure from it anymore but I remember the effect it had on me when I first saw it at 19 and I know that it can have the same effect on others: there are few movies that are capable of turning young people into cinephiles instantly the way Breathless can.

Hello. I run a monthly movie group in Hyde Park and I will be showing Breathless tomorrow and leading the discussion afterwards. I am very conflicted about showing it because I dislike it tremendously and don't feel like I have a great handle on it's greatness. The intention of this film group is to expose people to the canon of great classic film (foreign, silent, classic Hollywood). This is the first film I am showing that I actively dislike. I figure it is good medicine for all of us.

I do love My Darling Clementine. I love She Wore A Yellow Ribbon even more. In fact I wrote a blog entry comparing it to The Tree of Life (of all things!). If you are interested, please check it out on my blog.: http://thediscreetbourgeois.blogspot.com/2011/09/achieving-timelessness.html

You should definitely see My Darling Clementine before you die.

I prefer An American in Paris to Singin' in the Rain because I'm a Minnelli man but I love 'em both.

I love Jacques Demy. I'm showing The Umbrellas of Cherbourg in a class on Monday.
